This feature allows you to copy data from existing designs to streamline the creation of new designs or projects. This can be helpful when you want to use previous work as a starting point, saving you valuable time and effort.
Prerequisites
Access: You need access rights to both the project you want to copy from and the project you want to copy to.
Compatibility: The projects must use the same calculation tool (e.g., LEED or BREEAM) and ideally have the same LCA Parameter settings for consistent results.
Options: You can copy all data from a design or just the building materials data.
This feature can copy project data from one project to another, one design at a time.
How to Copy a Design
1. Locate the feature:
From the project's main page, click the edit icon of the design you want to copy to and select "Copy data from another design."
β
2. Select the source design: Choose the design you want to copy data from. This can be one of your own designs or a colleague's design within a project you have access to.
β
β3. Choose the data to copy:
Copy all data: Populates all input forms in the new design.
Copy Building materials only: Imports only the data from the building materials query.
Important Notes
Result differences: If you copy data between projects with the same calculation tool but different LCA parameter settings, the results may vary. LCA parameters influence modules A1-A3, A4, B4-B5, and C1-C4.
Using different tools: Copying data between projects with different calculation tools (e.g., LEED and BREEAM) can lead to significant differences in results due to variations in scope and calculation methods. It's not recommended to compare results between different tools.
