About the integration

One Click LCA now connects to Autodesk Forma Takeoff, enabling you to perform carbon and life-cycle assessments, as well as generate Environmental Product Declarations, from data created with Forma Takeoff.

Autodesk Forma Takeoff enables material quantity estimation based on the received 3D models and also 2D PDF drawings. As a result, this integration enables you to export material quantity data from Autodesk Forma projects without needing design authoring tools like Revit. This can be especially useful for developers, contractors, and project managers.

The key benefits of this integration are:

  • You can get access to your entire project Takeoff packages portfolio and easily create LCAs

  • You can use the more affordable Autodesk Forma tools vs. using all the individual full-fledged design software

  • You do not have to spend time familiarizing with the different design software

  • You do not have to locate and wait for the large BIM models to load

  • You can easily share projects with others via the platform

Update

Autodesk rebranded its construction products under Autodesk Forma in March 2026. The main naming changes relevant to this integration are:

  • Autodesk Construction Cloud → Autodesk Forma

  • Autodesk Takeoff → Forma Takeoff

  • Autodesk Construction Cloud accounts → Autodesk Forma Hubs

  • Autodesk Construction Cloud account admins → Autodesk Forma Hub Admins

Some of the new names and branding may not yet be visible in One Click LCA. However, the integration continues to work correctly. Existing projects, data, workflows, login details, and URLs remain unchanged.

How do you set up the Autodesk Forma Takeoff Integration?

Make sure you have the things listed below before starting:

  • One Click LCA account and license with Expert features or higher

  • An account with Forma Takeoff subscription

  • One Click LCA for Forma Takeoff integration added to your Autodesk Forma Hub

How can I access the integration?

To access the integration, you should first add the One Click LCA integration to your Autodesk Forma Hub. To do this please follow the steps below:

1. Login to Autodesk Forma:

2. Go to "Hub Admin" (only Autodesk Forma Hub Admins can configure the additional apps).

3. Access "Apps". Search for the "One Click LCA for Autodesk Forma Takeoff" app and follow the steps to install it.

How to use the Autodesk Forma Takeoff Integration?

The integration imports the bill of materials (created via Forma Takeoff packages) into the One Click LCA platform. Whether your quantity takeoff is based on 3D models or 2D drawings, all the content can be easily exported.

To do so, follow these steps:

1. Open your project in One Click LCA.

2. Choose your desired LCA tool.

3. Select 'Import from Takeoff'.

4. You will then be asked to log in to Autodesk Forma, use your Autodesk credentials and follow the prompts.

5. Authorize One Click LCA to get access to your Forma Takeoff data

6. Once authorized, you will be redirected to One Click LCA's Forma Takeoff integration webpage where you will be prompted to choose an Autodesk Forma project & Forma Takeoff packages:

7. Once you choose the scope you want to import, click on the 'Import' button at the bottom of the page. You will then be redirected to One Click LCA's Import Mapper.

Prerequisites

Autodesk Forma projects need to have Forma Takeoff enabled.

When landing on One Click LCA - Forma Takeoff integration page, you will be able to see all your projects from Autodesk Forma.

You can import data from Autodesk Forma to One Click LCA only for projects for which the Forma Takeoff is enabled. To do this, navigate to your project and select the Members tab. Make sure the Preconstruction feature is activated for relevant users. Additionally, you should have access to use the Forma Takeoff on the project. This can be granted by Autodesk Forma project administrator.

If you decide to import data from Autodesk Forma project, for which the Forma Takeoff is not enabled, or you don't have access to it, you will be stopped from importing data to One Click LCA platform and an error popup will be shown (see below). Please revise your project selection in this situation.

Users need to have permission to view the Autodesk Forma files.

To export data from the Forma Takeoff to the One Click LCA, the Autodesk Forma users must have the "member level" access or higher with granted permission to view the relevant project files.

Known Issues

Error: Unable to create Bill of Materials. Please try again or contact One Click LCA support.

If users have the required permissions but are still unable to import data into One Click LCA, the issue may be related to the number of elements in the Takeoff package.

To resolve this, ensure the combined package including its types do not contain more than 230-240 elements from the 3D model. If the package exceeds this limit, it is recommended to split the package into smaller packages to comply with the element limit.
