This article describes our AI-powered mapping feature that helps users match imported data with existing resources from the One Click LCA database.
What is AI mapping?
When importing data, the software needs to link it to the correct entries in its database. AI mapping uses the imported name (and sometimes the project's country) to intelligently find the best match. It understands synonyms, spelling variations, and even typos, making the process smoother and more accurate.
How does it work?
Training: The AI model was initially trained on a huge dataset of existing user mappings.
Learning: The model continuously learns and improves as users interact with it. If you correct a suggestion, the AI remembers that for future use.
Adapting: The system adapts to user preferences and regional differences.
How does AI mapping fit with other mapping rules?
The software prioritizes exact matches (like IDs or full names) and previous mappings by you or your colleagues. AI mapping comes in when these methods fail, significantly reducing the amount of unmatched data.
How to use and improve AI mapping
Explore suggestions: You can click on a cell in the "Map resource" column to see more AI-generated suggestions and choose the best match.
Provide feedback: Use the "report bad mapping" feature to help the AI learn and improve.
Correct suggestions: Actively refine the AI's suggestions by choosing the most accurate resource. This helps the system learn your preferences and provide even better matches in the future.
In simple terms, AI mapping acts like an intelligent assistant that helps you find the right matches for your imported data, learning and improving with every interaction. By actively participating in the process and providing feedback, you contribute to making this feature even more accurate and efficient for everyone.
Where is the AI mapping available?
One Click LCA data import process
Please find out more details regarding the data import process here.
One Click LCA BIM integrations (Revit)
AI mapping is also available in the Revit integration. Mappings suggested by AI are clearly marked in the plugin, so you can review and change them before you continue.
What the Revit Integration Uses
In Revit, AI mapping is based only on the material name shown in the Revit material column of the Materials tab.
Difference Between Revit and the Online Import
Revit and the online import use the same AI model, but their results can differ. The online import has more information about your project, which helps it find more accurate matches.
Additional Rules in the Online Import
Country: Data from your project country is shown first.
Tool: Only data that fits the tool and question you import to is suggested.
Licence: Only data included in your licence is suggested.
Your filters: The filters you select, such as Data type and EPD program, are applied.
