Adding Private Data

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The Private data feature is available to all Expert license users. It requires you to create a company account, instructions for which can be found here.

The Private Data feature in One Click LCA lets Expert license users add custom data to their company account, keeping project-specific information organized and accessible. Here's how it works:

Requirements:

  • Expert License: You'll need an active Expert license.

  • Company Account: A company account is necessary for managing private data. (Instructions for creating a company account can be found here.

  • Main User Role: To add private data, you must be designated as a "Main User" within your organization. Multiple users can have this role.

Benefits:

  • Centralized Data: Store and manage your private data securely in your company account.

  • Easy Access: All users associated with your company's license can access and use this private data in their projects.

  • Collaboration: Easily share private data with colleagues and streamline your LCA workflows.

How to Add Private Data

Go to your company account and navigate to the "Data Management" tab.

Click "Edit" to view existing private datasets or create new ones.

Click "Add new private data" and choose the relevant data type:

  • Building Materials Select the appropriate option based on your LCA tool (CML, TRACI, INIES, etc.).

  • Other Data: Options are available for energy data, transportation profiles, and EPD tools.

Provide details like name, reference unit, thickness (if applicable), density (if applicable), resource type, dataset type, and country.

Include the data source, upstream database, and add environmental data e.g. +A2, CML, TRACI, or both, ensuring it matches your chosen reference unit.

Add optional additional data such as biogenic carbon content, resource use, waste categories, and other relevant indicators, but remember that not all tools may utilize this information.

In "Data properties," enable the data for use in your LCA calculations.

Note: This makes the data available in certification tools like BREEAM and LEED, and you are responsible for data compliance.

Important Notes

  • You cannot add data points to regulated datasets like the Dutch NMD database.

  • Transportation impacts cannot be added initially but can be edited later in the building materials query.

  • One Click LCA recommends using the public database whenever possible to ensure compliance with standards and certifications.
