Overview


This guide is for LCA in compliance with

  • LCA for BREEAM v7 UKNC v6.2 Residential & Int'l, EN 15804:2013+A1

  • LCA for BREEAM v7 UKNC v6.2 Residential & Int'l, EN 15804:2019+A2

Key features of BREEAM v7 include:

  • Assessment of environmental performance at various lifecycle stages, including master-planning for communities.

  • Support for decarbonization, net zero, EU Taxonomy compliance, and future asset resilience. Most technical screening criteria for construction and real estate activities in the EU Taxonomy are embedded in BREEAM v7.

One Click LCA has been approved for the highest possible quality rating. This tool supports BREEAM v7 UK, BREEAM v7 Int'l, and BREEAM v6.2 Residential. It is applicable in the UK and internationally, with some countries using adapted versions to suit local markets while maintaining BREEAM's rigorous standards.


Life-Cycle & Results Scope


The calculation includes the life cycle modules of A1–A5 (product sourcing and construction), B1–B5 (use stage, excluding B6–B7), C1–C4 (end-of-life), and D (benefits and loads beyond the system boundary). Module D is required unless EN 15804+A2 data is not available for used products.

The results are provided for a range of mandatory indicators, including Global Warming Potential, Acidification, Eutrophication, Ozone Depletion Potential, and Formation of Ozone in the lower atmosphere & non-hazardous waste disposed. Additionally, we report biogenic carbon storage.


Data Scope


The LCA for BREEAM v7 UKNC v6.2 Residential & Int'l, EN 15804:2013+A1 tool uses CML data, while the LCA for BREEAM v7 UKNC v6.2 Residential & Int'l, EN 15804:2019+A2 uses PEF data.


Assessment Scope


The scope of the assessment is dependent on the credits you are pursuing. The more building elements you include in your assessment, the higher the credits achieved. OneClick LCA helps you achieve the maximum number of credits (7 + 3 exemplary).


​Project setup

Similarly to the previous BREEAM version, to use BREEAM v7 tools, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your One Click LCA account and select the relevant BREEAM v7 UKNC v6.2 Residential & Int'l tool for your project, depending on whether you need to comply with the EN 15804:2013+A1 or the EN 15804:2019+A2 standard.

  • Add your project data and design according to the chosen assessment scope.

  • On the results page in One Click LCA, use the “More actions” button to download the detailed report to Excel. This report will help you during your BREEAM submission.

Submission


How to submit according to the new process:


Please utilize the designated Excel template provided by BRE for the submission of your project. Upon completion of your calculations and results in the LCA tool, kindly export or copy the findings into the designated sections of the Excel file. The file and tab names within the Excel document must adhere to the requirements specified by the verification body, in alignment with RICS naming conventions if applicable.

Please ensure that all mandatory data fields are accurately completed in accordance with the instructions outlined in the template. The completed Excel file should be submitted directly, as this is the accepted format for verification.

If you are using both RICS and this tool for the same project, please be careful to update transportation data in both tools separately, since they do not share this information.
