Key Improvements

  • Enhanced flexible data management
All inputs are now organized in a new table, enabling you to group data and control column order and visibility.

  • Faster search with new capabilities
A dedicated search overlay enables quicker resource discovery and comparison. Search accuracy is improved, including tolerance for typos. Filtering options are expanded, with a new manufacturing site distance filter (straight line).

  • Improved performance and 7x larger design support
Instant save and other performance enhancements provide a smoother experience, even for large designs. Support for designs up to 5x larger has been introduced.

  • Streamlined fast navigation
Navigation between queries via the collapsible side panel is now instant. A breadcrumb at the top enables smooth switching between designs and tools within a project.

New UI Navigation

The best way to learn how to navigate the interface, and find out how to use all its exciting features is to take the onboarding tour.

When you enable the new user interface, you will be invited to take an onboarding tour.

If it is already the default interface for you, you can take the tour by navigating to any LCA model (design) query and navigating to the bottom left corner of the side panel on the left.

The onboarding tour covers the below key topics:

  • Side Panel: Query tabs (e.g., "Materials A1-A3") are relocated in the side panel for easier access. The side panel can be collapsed or adjusted to provide more space for the resource table.

  • Column Management: Columns can be hidden, rearranged, resized, and pinned.

  • Grouping and Sorting Data: Use column headers to group or sort your data.

  • Filtering Data: Different columns have different filter types which allow you to display only the data you want.

  • Copying Data: The new user interface facilitates dragging data from one cell into adjacent cells for seamless copying and pasting.

  • Wrapping Text: The sandwich menu of the column has an option to wrap text within a column.

  • Switching Designs or Tools: This can now be done for designs/tools within the same project without needing to navigate back to the Project Page.

  • Managing Constructions: Easily create and ungroup constructions.

  • Deleting Multiple Materials: Simply select rows you want to remove and delete them in one click.

  • Improved Resource Search: By clicking the "Add resource" button, a search overlay appears where the search bar, filters, and customisable columns can be used to find and add multiple datasets at the same time. The search overlay can be viewed in full-screen (click ), and favourite resources are displayed in a separate tab.

  • Managing resources: Right clicking a resource gives you options to duplicate, replace, or delete it.

Master the new user interface in just a few minutes with our short onboarding tour. You can retake the tour at any time by clicking "Start guided tour" in the bottom left corner of the side panel.

What else is coming soon?

  • Download inputs from the query as Excel file

  • Editing constructions

  • Private (organization) classifications

  • Ability to see detailed calculations

We're also improving usability further with updates such as a more compact layout, row dragging, and improved resource tracking.

Access

The new user interface is already the default for most users. For tools that it is not yet the default, you can access the new interface in two ways:

1. Click "Yes" in the pop-up when opening a new design

2. Click the "New interface" button on the old data input page, shown below

Switching Back to the Old Interface

You can switch back to the old interface if needed by clicking the "Old interface" button on the query page. Your changes will be saved. Note that this option might be restricted depending on your license.

Timeline for stopping access to the old interface for tools supporting the new interface

Having a single interface allows us to deliver updates more effectively and provide more streamlined guidance and support. The old data input page will be gradually discontinued in June (29th June to 3rd July) for all the tools that support the new interface by that time.

There will be an exception for end-to-end EPD tool users that use Manufacturing sites, who can maintain access until the end of the year. Additionally the timeline will be communicated separately for the "Concrete EPD Generator (Ecoinvent 3.10)" tool.

Important Notes

  • Some features from the old page are not yet supported

  • Sorting and filtering are limited for some columns

  • Large designs (over 500 resources) created in the new interface cannot be switched to the old interface

Troubleshooting and Feedback

  • This version is available to users with supported tools

  • Ensure your unit system and language information are correctly set in your user account

  • If you are a Business or Expert license user and encounter issues, please contact us
