Classified Projects in One Click LCA

Updated this week

To improve data privacy and control, One Click LCA has introduced a new “Classified Project” option that allows project managers to restrict automatic access to sensitive projects.

Current Access Options

Currently, there are two main ways users can be added to a project:

  1. By Project Managers
Project managers (by default, the project creator) can manually invite users to the project.
Each invited user is assigned one of the following roles:

    • Manager – full project control, including inviting or removing users.

    • Modifier – edit access without user management rights.

    • Read-only – view access only.

  2. Via License-Wide Access Rights
Some users (for example, License Managers) may have the setting “Rights to All License Entities”, which automatically gives them access to all projects created under that license.

What’s Changing

With the Classified Project feature, project managers can now choose to restrict license-wide access for specific projects.

When a project is marked as classified:

  • Users with license-wide access (“Rights to All License Entities”) will not be automatically added.

  • Only users who are explicitly invited by the project manager or creator will have access.

  • The project will be visible only to those users who have been directly added to it.

Note: Marking a project as classified does not remove any users who already have access. The restriction applies from the moment the classification is enabled.

How to Mark a Project as Classified

  1. Open your project in One Click LCA.

  2. Go to the "More actions" and "Modify" section.

  3. Tick the checkbox labelled “Classified Project”.

  4. Save your changes.

From that point onwards:

  • License-wide access rights will no longer apply to the project.

  • Only project managers can invite or remove users.

Why Use Classified Projects?

Classified projects are ideal when:

  • You are working with sensitive or confidential data.

  • You need to ensure strict control over who can access the project.

  • Your organisation requires limited visibility for specific projects under a shared license.
