What's new in One Click LCA in January 2026

Updated this week

Update Highlights

  • Find relevant data faster with four new pre-filtered search tabs for Local and Regional EPDs and Generics.

  • Prevent accidental changes and ensure data integrity by locking individual resources or entire designs in the new data input interface.

  • Streamline compliance reporting for Nordic and North American projects with updated support for NS3720, BR25, and LEED v5 Metric.

  • Iterate designs safely by merging Carbon Designer 3D models into existing projects without overwriting current data.

  • Achieve greater modeling precision using 7000+ new datasets and enhanced concrete EPD characteristics.

Platform & software updates

Streamlined resource search

The new data input search now includes four pre-filtered tabs to help users find the most relevant data faster. These tabs replicate the preferred hierarchy from the classic interface:

  • Local generics

  • Local EPDs

  • Regional generics

  • Regional EPDs

The existing fully customizable filter tab remains available as the default view.

Enhanced data control with locking features

Users can now lock individual resources or entire designs directly within the new data input interface.

  • Resource Locking: Secure specific rows to prevent editing while keeping the rest of the project flexible.

  • Design Locking: Set whole designs to read-only mode, ensuring finalized data remains unchanged during review or after completion.

The new data input interface is now the default view for Business and Designer licenses (excluding Japan). This transition brings improved navigation, faster grouping, and modern workflow tools to a wider user base.

Building & Infrastructure LCA updates

The LEED v5 North American tool is now available in metric units. Users can perform the same robust assessments and generate compliant reports using metric inputs.

  • Flexible Design Merging: Data from a Carbon Designer 3D design can now be merged into one or multiple project designs at once without overwriting pre-existing data. This allows for safer iteration and easier integration of early-stage models.

  • Norway Region Update: The Norway 2019 region has been updated with 'lavkarbon' default data, aligning it with Carbon Designer 2D for consistent low-carbon baselines.

  • UK Region Update: A new RICS v2 aligned region has been added, matching the latest RICS manual guidance for baseline material specifications.

Users can now create private data specifically for the deconstruction/demolition (C1) stage in RICS 2nd edition projects, allowing for precise definition of both decarbonized and non-decarbonized impacts.

Product LCA & EPDs updates

The NMD Set A2 tool has been overhauled to ensure full alignment with the latest Dutch market requirements:

  • Accurate Reporting: Calculation logic has been updated to provide correct MKI values.

  • Streamlined Results: Exports now focus strictly on Set A2 data, removing unnecessary tables.

  • Compliant Formats: Results are generated in the correct Excel format required for NMD submission.

The EPD Generator for Ecoinvent 3.10 (INIES & PEP) is now fully compatible with the new user interface, offering a faster and more modern experience for French market declarations.

Users can now add Ecoinvent resources to their data lists directly from the new query interface, removing the need to switch back to the company account view.

Enhanced concrete and coating data

Concrete EPDs: New characteristics for strength evaluation days (365 days) and compressive strength class (C10/12) are now available.

Local Updates

Automated, localized reporting for Nordic certifications

The NS3720 tool is now fully compatible with the new user interface, featuring:

  • "Operational transport" query support.

  • Streamlined workflow for Norwegian compliance.

The calculation tool for BR25 is now available in the new interface.

  • Enhanced Service Life Logic: The tool now prioritizes project-specific service life scenarios over default resource values, ensuring more accurate calculations for technical service life.

France: Smoother RE2020 data imports

The "Import data from RSET/RSEE" feature in the RE2020 tool has been refined for reliability:

  • Accuracy: Climate zones are now auto-imported from XML for precise threshold calculations.

  • Guidance: Missing fields are clearly highlighted with direct links for completion.

  • Consistency: Auto-consumption rates for local electricity are now systematically checked and imported.

Database expansion

The database now includes 7171 new datasets, including the updated Baubook database. These additions enhance regional accuracy and material representation for both construction and manufacturing

.

Expanded 154 coverage with new generics

An additional 154 generic datasets have been added for electronics and infrastructure, supporting early-stage modeling and sensitivity assessments where verified EPDs are not yet available.
