Platform & software updates
The AI agent for importing a bill of materials is now available, letting users import a bill of materials file in Excel format without first converting it to the One Click LCA import template.
Users can drop an Excel-format file into the drag-and-drop box in an empty input query, or upload it from the file upload screen in the data import interface, and the file is processed automatically into an importable format, so users can proceed directly to the mapping stage.
More information on availability will follow soon. Users interested in testing this feature can contact [email protected].
The new data input interface includes several usability and display improvements this release.
Users can:
See country flags next to transport icons, in both the dropdown and table rows
Calculate all tools on a design in one click, without previous exceptions
Keep table settings, such as column order and width, universal and persistent across projects, tools, sessions, and devices
View all sub-query columns directly within the parent query, and edit them there without navigating to the sub-query; cells without sub-query-specific values are greyed out
Search results are also improved. Users can:
Get results sorted by data type first, then by distance to the project address
Find relevant matches using localized search terms, such as "betoni" for concrete
Filter search results by region, such as Europe
More localized terms will be added over time.
Building & Infrastructure LCA updates
Run faster microclimate simulations with ENVI-met 6.0
ENVI-met 6.0, "Lightning," delivers faster microclimate simulations and introduces a new Rapid Thermal Comfort analysis for quick outdoor comfort assessments.
The release also introduces concurrent licenses, letting teams share and rotate access within a shared license pool instead of tying up a dedicated seat per user. Student licenses carry additional limitations.
Several improvements make importing and working with IFC models in Carbon Designer 3D faster and more reliable.
Users benefit from:
Fixed calculation errors that could occur when importing complex IFC files
Faster IFC processing, with parsing moved off the main thread
Clearer upload progress, displayed directly within the upload box
A corrected 3D preview, fixing an issue where some IFC models appeared unusually small after import
Model MEP systems in Carbon Designer 3D with new RICS v2 constructions
New MEP constructions aligned with the RICS v2 methodology are now available in Carbon Designer 3D for Apartment and Retail building types.
These constructions provide ready-to-use assumptions for major building-services systems, including fresh and wastewater, heating and cooling distribution, ventilation, electrical systems, communications, fire suppression, and renewable energy systems. This expands the coverage of the UK RICS v2 reference building, letting users include MEP systems in early-stage carbon assessments.
Several smaller improvements streamline everyday work in Carbon Designer 3D this release.
Users can now:
See an improved toast notification when rendering quality is dynamically lowered
Resize columns more smoothly during editing
View a data card icon for construction and constituent information
See legends and design details on downloadable graphs
Export the Building Area query as a GIF (Gross Internal Floor)
Additional fixes address the missing Carbon Designer 3D icon on project tiles created with a floating license, the missing ranking column in the Edit Construction search overlay, data cleanup after deleting linked elements, and 3D model links on the main page.
These usability improvements will become available shortly after the August software release.
Sustainable Planner now supports importing IFC models directly into the design workflow.
This update will become available shortly after the August software release.
Access the new data input interface for more tools
The new data input interface now supports the LCA for DGNB (Intl 2020), the LCA according to Bygningsreglementet 2018, and the BREEAM V7.2 Impact tools.
Product LCA & EPD updates
Assess projects with BAFU 2026 V1 data
BAFU 2026 V1 is now available in One Click LCA, adding 11,974 datasets with improved coverage across the energy area, including around 200 new construction material datasets.
BAFU 2025 V2 remains available alongside it, so existing projects, constructions, and data lists continue working as before, and users can stay on the 2025 version where needed. Both versions currently appear together in search results; version-specific filtering in the LCI Database filter will follow in a later release.
Coming soon: Generate pre-verified EPDs for HVAC products
HVAC manufacturers can now produce Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in a dedicated, fully pre-verified EPD Hub tool. No custom setup or consultant-built model is needed to get a publishable EPD for HVAC products.
More information will be shared close to the August release.
Align EPD results automatically with declared scope
EPD results now match the declared scope automatically. Stages that fall fully outside the scope are reported as ND instead of showing zeros, consistently across result pages, the resource JSON, ILCD, and the EPD report.
This removes the need to hand-edit reports to align result tables with scope, and reduces the number of EPDs returned from verification for correction.
Enter precise transport assumptions with decimal capacity utilization
Decimal values are now accepted for capacity utilization, including empty returns, in the A4 transport stage. Transport assumptions can be entered at their actual precision instead of being rounded to whole numbers.
Classify lighting and electronics products correctly for EPD Hub discovery
Luminaire and electronics manufacturers can now select "Lighting" or "Electronics" as their product classification, instead of defaulting to "Undefined" or "Any other non-construction product," when creating projects.
Their products are then filed under the correct category in the EPD Hub library, so buyers searching that category can find them.
Ensure consistent EcoPlatform branding with a mandatory EPD reference standard
The EPD reference standard is now required in the new data input interface and via the EPD API, matching the existing requirement in the old interface. This ensures the EcoPlatform logo appears consistently on generated EPDs, regardless of which interface created them.
API updates
Filter projects faster with new Calculation Results API parameters
New optional filters have been added to the GET /projects endpoint: project name, project ID, project code, building type, and country. Filters can be combined, and existing requests continue to work as before.
Individual life cycle stage exposure (A1 through D), rather than grouped totals such as A1-A3-full or C1-C4_EOL, will become available approximately four days after the August software release.
Local updates
France: align RE2020 thresholds with the Rivaton I regulatory update
Rivaton I aligns RE2020 construction and energy threshold calculations with the regulatory update for permis de construire (PC) deposit dates from 1 July 2026.
New modulation factors apply to average ceiling height (individual houses and collective housing), exterior amenity area (collective housing only), and climatised surface (buildings on a classified network, all types). Existing coefficients are also updated across all high-rise building types.
New inputs are pre-filled with defaults, so there is no automatic impact. Users should review and update these inputs for projects with a PC deposit date after 1 July 2026; earlier projects are unaffected.
Database updates
Access data with BAFU 2026 V1
BAFU 2026 V1 is now included in the database. See Product LCA & EPD updates for details.
